Enduring Support: Couple Plans to Leave a Legacy for Others to Follow

Matt and Ellen Medeiros have been major supporters of Bellarmine College Preparatory for more than a decade, many years before their son, Nick '13, started attending the school. Now they have continued their generosity to Bellarmine by including a legacy provision for Bellarmine in their estate plan.

"Once you have taken care of your own needs and your family's needs, there is room to change the lives of future generations of Bellarmine students," Matt says.

Matt is the chairman of Bellarmine's board of regents and president and CEO of SonicWall, a manufacturer and seller of content control and network security appliances. Ellen is an owner and CFO of Trim Tech Construction Inc., which specializes in sales, distribution and installation of architectural doors, frames and hardware.

This year, more than 24 percent of Bellarmine's student enrollment is sharing in more than $4 million of tuition assistance. The school is planning for the future now by addressing the ever increasing need for tuition assistance by asking parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents and friends to consider including a provision in their wills or trusts for Bellarmine. Legacy gifts to education help to ensure the future.
